The agents of the State Police of the Commissariat of Greek's tower they served a custodial order on a 48-year-old man with a criminal record in prison, accused of aggravated theft from a pharmacy.
The order was issued by the Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Court of Torre Annunziata at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The investigations, conducted by the Anti-Crime Police and coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office, arose from the complaint of the pharmacy manager, who had reported two episodes of theft that occurred on 21 and 27 December 2024. On both occasions, the manager had acted with the same modus operandi, taking advantage of the absence of customers and staff to steal money from the cash register.
The analysis of the video surveillance images provided by the victim was crucial to the identification of the suspect. The videos clearly show the man entering the business and withdrawing the money. In the theft of December 27, the suspect is said to have even removed the entire deposit of the sums of money, cutting the connection cables of the cash register.
The agents, who already knew the suspect, had no doubts about his identity. The restrictive measure was notified at the Naples Poggioreale “G. Salvia” prison, where the man was already detained for another case.
