Benevento – A 47-year-old man, already known to law enforcement, was arrested by the State Police for possession with intent to distribute narcotics, specifically heroin and hashish. The man, who was already under a precautionary measure requiring him to report to the judicial police, was also charged with illegal possession of a knife.
The operation is part of an activity to prevent and combat drug dealing in the territory of Benevento. After thorough investigations and stakeouts, the Flying Squad agents surprised the 47-year-old while he was recovering a package hidden in the bushes. Before he could leave to make further sales, the agents stopped him and searched him, finding him in possession of heroin, a knife with the blade soaked in the same substance and 40 euros in cash.
Continuing the checks in the area, the police found a further quantity of heroin wrapped in cellophane. The subsequent house search also allowed them to discover a quantity of hashish.
In light of the evidence collected, the quantity of drugs seized and the man's specific criminal history, the officers proceeded to arrest him. After the formal procedures, by order of the Public Prosecutor on duty, the 47-year-old was placed under house arrest pending the validation judgment.
