Naples - Last July after his release from prison there was a party with fireworks at Pallonetto di Santa Lucia. Now Gennaro Belaeff, 29, considered a dangerous exponent of the Elia clan must go and live far from Naples.
This was decided by the Court of Naples - Section for the Application of Preventive Measures, which accepted the proposal put forward by the Police Chief at the end of October, thus applying the preventive measure of special surveillance by the PS for a period of 3 years with a ban on staying in the municipality of residence (Naples) and a bail of 2.000,00 euros.
Gennaro Belaeff he was currently at liberty. For investigators he is close to the Elia clan and has long been involved in criminal environments of the Camorra type in the Pallonetto di Santa Lucia area, actively involved.
The Preventive Measures Court "accepted the classification of the proposed dangerousness pursuant to the legislation - Legislative Decree no. 159/2011 (so-called Anti-Mafia Code) - considering the evidence provided regarding his membership in the Elia clan to be current and consistent, also in light of the legal proceedings still open against him and always relating to criminal dynamics pertaining to the operations of the same clan".

Reading this article I wondered why justice in Italy always takes so long to make decisions. Gennaro Belaeff has a complicated history, but the measures seem adequate for his current situation.
I don't understand why we don't intervene earlier, prevention is important but we also need faster decisions. The situation in Naples is complex and requires constant attention from the authorities.
