CASERTA – A phone call to 113 put an end to a nightmare of threats, violence and requests for money. The police officers of the Flying Squad of the Caserta police headquarters intervened in recent days to help a young man brutally attacked by his father, a 62-year-old originally from the province of Naples. The man, according to what investigators have reconstructed, allegedly hit his son with a metal object, causing injuries to his face and neck. All to obtain money by force.
The officers, alerted by the victim, promptly arrived on the scene, finding themselves faced with a dramatic family situation marked by repeated episodes of violence. The investigations of the Flying Squad have in fact highlighted a past full of mistreatment, which had its peak in the last attack. The 62-year-old was arrested on charges of mistreatment in the family and extortion.
After the arrest was validated, the man was subjected to the precautionary measure of a ban on residing in the municipality of Caserta. A story that brings to the fore the issue of domestic violence, often silenced to the extreme limit. In this case, what made the difference was the son's request for help and the immediate intervention of the police.
