Naples – The feud between rival clans of the Cedola di Forcella and the Marigliano delle Case Nuove that is bloodying the streets of Naples has written a new chapter but this time in favor of the State and legality.

Yesterday morning, the State Police executed a precautionary custody order in prison, issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA), against a twenty-three-year-old seriously suspected of illegal possession and carrying of explosive devices and public intimidation with the use of weapons, with the aggravating circumstance of the mafia method.
The young man arrested is believed to be close to the criminal group headed by the powerful Marigliano family, active in the “Case nuove” neighborhood. According to investigations, he is believed to be the author of the bomb attack that, last June, spread panic in the historic center of the Neapolitan capital.

The criminal action, reconstructed by investigators, involved the positioning and subsequent explosion of a rudimentary device, a "paper bomb", which caused significant damage to several commercial establishments and cars parked nearby.
The investigations, coordinated by the Naples DDA and conducted by the Mobile Squad agents, with the support of the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station, made use of a meticulous analysis of the footage recorded by the video surveillance cameras present both at the site of the explosion and along the escape routes used by the perpetrator.
This investigative work would have allowed us to identify the alleged attacker and reconstruct the motive for the act.
According to the investigators' reconstruction, the explosion of the device was part of a violent clash between the criminal group of Marigliano and the rival gang, active in the Forcella district, led by the Cedola family.
The bomb attack is interpreted as a clear act of intimidation aimed at affirming the supremacy of the Marigliano clan in the city's criminal landscape.
