“The Galleria Vittoria risks being yet another odyssey. What was supposed to be a temporary closure now risks being extended for over a year and a half, as reported by Il Mattino. It will be necessary to remove every piece of the vault and then rebuild it to ensure the safety of the structure. The hopes for a quick solution are now almost zero despite the various promises of sailors that we have heard in recent months. Some experts are even talking about work lasting 4 or 5 years. Not as if they were drilling through Mont Blanc.
All this will mean continuous traffic jams in the city, increased smog with an unsolvable traffic chaos. Some citizens have expressed their intention to start a class action against the Municipality. To date, this seems to be the only viable solution to force the protagonists of this affair to intervene and find a solution that guarantees the repair of the Gallery within European timeframes, and alternative road plans to avoid sending the traffic, already in great difficulty, into even greater chaos”. This was stated by Francesco Emilio Borrelli, regional councilor of Europa Verde with the councilors of Sole che Ride in the I municipality Gianni Caselli and Benedetta Sciannimanica.
