Too many covid risks, the mayor of Castellammare closes schools until February 13th.
The mayor of Castellammare di Stabia, Gaetano Cimmino, has signed an ordinance ordering the suspension of in-person teaching in middle and high schools from Monday, February 1st to Saturday, February 13th.
"Our city - explains Cimmino - has a high concentration of schools in the municipal area and a very large school audience, made up of thousands of students also from neighboring municipalities. The resumption of in-person teaching activities inevitably involves the movement of a significant flow of students at entry and exit times near both schools and critical hubs of the local public transport system. And in the absence of clear answers from the competent bodies regarding the current number of positive citizens and the Rt index of contagion, I cannot allow citizens, and especially the school audience, to be exposed to health risks".
