Un lightning fell on the bell tower of the church of Sant'Alfonso Maria dei Liguori in San Felice a Cancello a few hours before the celebration of a wedding. The spouses forced to change church for security reasons
This morning a team of Fire fighters of the Provincial Command of Caserta coming from the central headquarters intervened in via Napoli in the municipality of San Felice a Cancello at the Church of St. Alphonsus Maria Liguori due to a lightning bolt that struck the church bell tower.
When the Fire Brigade arrived on site they found that the lightning had damaged part of the brickwork covering of the bell tower, which was about 20 metres high, and the bell. The team took care of the removal of dangerous parts and to secure the structure. During the operations, the streets adjacent to the church were closed to traffic.
Nothing strange apart from the averted danger if it were not for the fact that a few hours after the operation a celebration was planned wedding . The two spouses were forced to change church for security reasons. Finding the availability of the church of Sant'Agnese in hamlet of Piedarienzo, always a San Felice a Cancello. A hectic but at least safe wedding…
