Covid in Italy, the contagion curve is decreasing even if there is a new increase in the positivity rate.
Today there are 63.837 new Covid cases, compared to 88.221 yesterday but above all 86.067 last Wednesday. swabs carried out are 317.720 (yesterday 446.718) with a positivity rate that rises from 19,7% to 20.1%. There are 207 deaths in the last 24 hours (yesterday 253): 171.439 victims since the beginning of the pandemic.
Intensive care units are decreasing, 10 less (yesterday +8): in total there are 424 with 47 admissions today. The number of ordinary hospitalizations is also decreasing: there are 30 fewer (yesterday +43), for a total of 11.094. This is what emerges from the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health.
The region with the most Covid cases today is the Lombardia with 8.605 infections, followed by Veneto (+ 8.438), Campania (+5.887), Lazio (+4.924) and Puglia (+4.454). Total cases since the beginning of the epidemic rise to 20.837.233.
I discharged / healed of the last 24 hours are 79.499 (yesterday 107.347) for a total that rises to 19.285.667. The currently positive ones decrease by 15.306 units (yesterday -18.949) and are in total 1.380.127, of which 1.368.609 in home isolation.
“We are probably at the plateau, perhaps in a phase of decreasing incidence but we have also learned from previous waves that deaths are those of the expansive part, with a delay of two/three weeks”.
He states it Fabrizio Pregliasco, virologist at the State University and medical director of the Galeazzi hospital in Milan, commenting on the number of victims of Covid (207), recorded in the last 24 hours by the Ministry of Health.
“At the moment we have Omicron 5, highly contagious and widespread, we have opened up a lot and we are arriving with people who have been vaccinated and recovered for several months already – adds – so that these people lose a significant share of coverage”, these three elements “have made this wave so violent, compared to last summer when we were fresher with vaccinations”.
