Pontecagnano, scooter off road: 24 year old local man dies.
Fatal road accident last night in Pontecagnano (Salerno), a 24-year-old local man lost his life. The incident occurred shortly before XNUMX:XNUMX AM in via Picentia, a road that connects the center of Pontecagnano with the locality of Sant'Antonio.
Two 24-year-olds were riding a scooter when they went off the road for reasons still under investigation, ending up in a drainage ditch adjacent to the roadway. At this time, no other vehicle appears to have been involved in the accident.
Both were taken to the emergency room, where the young man who had suffered the most serious injuries died after an hour of attempts by paramedics to revive him.
The other young man suffered a wound to his left eye and was deemed curable in 40 days. Investigations are underway by the Carabinieri, who will acquire the images recorded by the video surveillance systems present on the route crossed by the two young people on the scooter.
There are no video cameras at the scene of the accident. The vehicle was seized.
