Camel in Casal di Principe, a new complaint is filed. The complaint has also arrived from the LNDC Animal Protection Association has filed a complaint against the 43-year-old
The LNDC Animal Protection Association also filed a complaint against the 43-year-old, whose seven horses, twelve dogs and a camel were seized in recent days, thanks to the intervention of the Carabinieri of Casal di Principe.
The military blitz, carried out together with the personnel of the Veterinary Operations Unit of the ASL of Caserta and the Technical Office of the Municipality of Casal di Principe, held the man responsible not only for animal abuse, but also for receiving stolen goods and building abuse.
“The Camel”, argued the association's lawyer Alessandra Itro, “it is a mammal at risk of extinction protected by CITES, an international convention that regulates the trade of certain animal species threatened with extinction. In Italy”, continues the lawyer “Camels are bred only in wildlife parks; therefore, it will be important to verify how this one arrived on the 43-year-old's property and above all to understand whether or not the man is in possession of the documentation relating to the identification and provenance of the animal itself”.
“This story is yet another one that shows us how for some people their animals are something of little value”, also commented Piera Rosati, President of LNDC Animal Protection.
“I don’t understand why some people take animals that they don’t want to take care of, like in this case, leaving them abandoned to themselves. A behavior that shows a total lack of empathy towards the life of other living beings and a total lack of respect for their dignity and their needs.
For this reason we have filed a complaint for animal abuse. We will never tire of inviting anyone who witnesses a similar situation to always act promptly so that, as in this case, the intervention of the police forces is as quick as possible”, concludes Rosati.
