A memorial on the last days of Fascism was found in Naples. In the secret diary of the Como partisan “Capitano Neri”
The death of Benito Mussolini and Claretta Petacci, the tragic events of Dongo, the fate of the treasure transported by the fugitives of the Italian Social Republic and the secret papers of the Duce. Unpublished details of these events are contained in the memorial of the Como partisan Luigi Canali, a leading figure in the partisan resistance on the Lario with the nickname of Captain Neri, which was found only in February 2012 in Naples, in the Soccavo district. The author of the discovery is Mario Altieri, a world-famous producer and director in the adult entertainment industry with the pseudonym of Mario Salieri. Upon the death of his maternal grandmother, Antonietta Neri, he inherited these texts presumably written in April 1945, more precisely from Thursday 26.
The memorial is typewritten on the front and back of twenty sheets of various sizes, headed to different offices of the Italian Social Republic and the National Fascist Party. The file is in good condition and is contained inside an envelope with the heading: The head of the government, which has the name of Antonio Neri, Altieri's grandfather, written in pencil on the front.
The ink of the memorial writing is not directly generated by the typewriter ribbon but by carbon paper, a sign that it is a copy and not an original. But before making this discovery public, Mario Altieri dedicated 10 years to the study of that memorial, also availing himself of the contribution and advice of experts, scholars and historians. Today he has decided to make it public so that it can be further studied and explored by the academic world and history enthusiasts. To facilitate its understanding, Altieri has written a volume entitled “The Other Story.
The memorial of the mystery” published by Book Sprint, in which he reconstructs the vicissitudes of the memorial and the circumstances that brought it into the possession of his maternal grandparents. The book is completed by an exhaustive gallery of photographic illustrations that support and bear witness to the various narrative phases. «I have no interest in entering into the historical debate.
I leave it to scholars to do so. The documents are available upon request. I do not have sufficient elements to consider the document reliable, but at the same time I have no reason to doubt its authenticity.
The proceeds from the sale of the book will be entirely donated to charity. I would like to point out that this operation has no political color", Altieri clarified. The presentation of the book was previewed on the YouTube channel "Erodoto Tv" by journalist Enzo Antonio Cicchino, RAI author for Mixer with Giovanni Minoli and the Great History with Luigi Bizzarri, collecting over 100 thousand views. Finally, Altieri leaves a dedication.
“Dear grandparents, it took 77 years to make public the memorial of your dear friend Luigi Canali, Captain Neri who mysteriously disappeared on the gray morning of May 7, 1945. What he and you wished for has finally come true today, and for me it was a true honor to be able to offer a small contribution to this great story.”
