The civil protection room of the Municipality of is currently being set up and should be activated in about a month. Casamicciola Terme, on the island of Ischia. The Commissioner of the Municipality of Casamicciola, Simonetta Calcaterra, spoke about it during a press conference in which the emergency commissioner Giovanni Legnini presented the text of an ordinance that identifies Sma Campania as the implementing body for the interventions to reduce residual risk.
Until the activation of the new municipal civil protection room, therefore, it will be necessary to evacuate citizens from homes at risk in the event of a yellow or orange alert. "I hope - explained Calcaterra - that in a month this room can be activated and evacuations will no longer have to occur".
In the room, the interferometric radar, the wireless sensors and the rain gauge installed and tested will be monitored, a monitor will receive the signals from the functional center of the operations room of the Civil Protection of the Campania Region and with another monitor it will be possible to observe the images recorded by the cameras placed on the most fragile points of the territory. At work there will be three technicians and a civil protection volunteer who will read the data and, in case of alarm, will carry out inspections on the territory to understand if the risk is such as to impose the evacuation of the citizens.
