He was walking around armed with a very sharp “katana” over half a meter long, carried hanging from his back, causing concern among passers-by who called the Carabinieri 112. It happened in Monteforte Irpino, in the province of AVELLINO, where the carabinieri stopped a 33-year-old local man in via Acqua delle Noci.
In addition to the Japanese sword, the man was found in possession of a taser complete with six refills for remote use and a can of pepper spray. All the objects were seized with the simultaneous complaint to the AVELLINO Prosecutor's Office for illegal possession of weapons capable of causing offence. Investigations are underway to evaluate any crimes that the suspect may have committed or was planning.
