Departed from Ostia and arrived at Napoli, the vintage vessel “Dulcinea” is currently moored at the dock of the Italian Naval League in the Molosiglio port.
On board this vessel, starting tomorrow, the Cardioteam Foundation Onlus will launch a campaign of free echocardiographic screening dedicated to subjects at risk.
The campaign, called “A sail for the heart”, is created in collaboration with the Italian Naval League and takes place on a 14-metre sailing vessel built in 1991, designed by Carlo Sciarrelli and built by the master shipwrights of the Carlini shipyards in Rimini.
The boat, which left Imperia on September 6, set sail from Rome on December 7 and, after the Neapolitan leg that will end on January 12, will continue its journey towards Salerno. “Dulcinea” will sail covering a total of 4000 nautical miles and touching 27 Italian ports, with the last leg scheduled in Trieste on the occasion of the Barcolana in September 2024.
At each stage of the journey, free screenings will be offered to adults over 50 years of age, upon reservation on the website www.unavelaperilcuore.it. A Napoli, visits will be available until December 23 and then again from January 8 to 12. Each patient will receive a detailed response and guidance to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
You can support the foundation through online donations, helping to enable “Dulcinea” to travel additional nautical miles and reach more ports, offering cardiac screenings to those in need. The voyage is dedicated to the memory of two illustrious men of the sea: Lawyer Gianfranco Putaturo and Engineer Sandro Buzzi.
