The arrest occurred for the crimes of aggravated extortion, receiving stolen goods, damage and resisting a public official. It all started with the report of a victim of car theft, who had reported the theft of his vehicle in Pollena Trocchia.
In the afternoon, the victim received numerous calls from criminals demanding 1000 euros in cash to return the stolen car, the classic “return horse” threatening to set it on fire in case of non-payment.
The Carabinieri of Cercola organized a traffic chase operation, which led to the capture of the criminals on board a stolen car. During the escape, the criminals attempted to escape on foot after colliding with a wall on Via Napoli in Mugnano di Napoli.

Thanks to the investigations carried out, the car that was the object of extortion was recovered and returned to its rightful owner.
