He is one of the young scions, but already with a very respectable criminal record, of the well-known Camorra family of the “Fasano” from the Acqua della Madonna di Castellammare area, the victim of this evening's ambush in Torre Annunziata.
Alfonso Fontana, like four other members of his family, was sentenced three years ago to 4 and a half years in prison for the shooting attack in front of a coffin on the Lungomare di Castellammare.
The person who opened fire, firing several shots, was apparently a man on a scooter, perhaps driven by an accomplice: the murder took place on the street around 21pm in front of a pastry shop, a short distance from the Torre Annunziata courthouse.
Investigators are working to understand what the victim was doing at that time in Torre Annunziata. It is likely that he had an appointment with someone and was therefore lured into a trap.
The possible motives for the ambush are undecipherable at the moment because Alfonso Fontana's family history requires further investigation.
