As part of an operation aimed at combating the trade of unsafe items, the Guardia di Finanza of Salerno seized approximately 2 million products in a commercial establishment in Scafati.
Handcrafted jewels made with the “wire” technique; onyx, lava, coral and glass type stones and
various accessories. The irregularities found: lack of certifications and lack of indications and warnings for use in Italian.
Violations were found both for consumer protection legislation and for product safety.
The Guardia di Finanza military then proceeded to the precautionary seizure of the products and their withdrawal from the market, and also to the reporting of the owner to the Chamber of Commerce for the imposition of administrative sanctions.
