The mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, has presented a plan aimed at understanding and making necessary interventions for the city's historic sewers.
This initiative follows the invasion of slime and mud in the hilly area of Vomero, near Via Morghen, due to the collapse of a section of the sewer system. The ABC Napoli teams are currently working to resolve the situation, paying particular attention to any replacements that may be necessary.
The collapse of the old sewer system, dating back to the early twentieth century and made of tuff, was caused by wear and tear accumulated over time.
Authorities are currently investigating the path of the water that caused damage to several buildings, in light of the closure of the breach that was previously opened on February 21.
To ensure the safety of the area, water supplies have been temporarily cut off in some nearby streets, with a commitment to restore service as soon as possible. Mayor Manfredi is closely monitoring the work and is committed to resolving the situation as quickly as possible.
