A new appeal to the President of the Council of Ministers comes from Melito, Giorgia Meloni, so that the so-called "Caivano Model" can be replicated in this city too. To report “the Melito case” to the prime minister through a letter is the local journalist and activist, Marcellus Curtius. The municipality was dissolved about three months ago due to the influence of organized crime in the administration.
“Dear Giorgia,” Curtius writes, “you will allow me to call you by your first name because we have known each other for a long time, in particular since the Viterbo congress in 2004, in which you became national president of Azione Giovani. In this role, one of your first stops was a debate in Giugliano moderated by me, followed by other public meetings coordinated by me, as shown by the photos I attach.”
“With this letter of mine I ask you to replicate, obviously partially, in our city what the media have defined as the 'Caivano model', so that these eighteen months of administration of the local authority in Melito really make logical sense.”
“As in Caivano, we, the people of Malta, would also like the attention of the State to be high and the commitment of your government to be constant, in every aspect, in favor of the territory and the citizens. We must recognize that in Caivano, recently, a lot of work has been done. Many commitments have been made and kept, and many others are already planned.”
“Let's do it here too,” Curzio concludes, “we are aiming first of all at social rebirth and the restoration of legality, which means taking the territory away from the control of organized crime and returning it to the full liveability of the citizens.”
