A water bottle of various colors, with the historic logo of the Salesian House redesigned and stylized in a particular way with a catchy phrase printed underneath: "class is not water". This is the original initiative of the students of the fourth IT (Administration, Finance and Marketing) of the Salesian Institute "Sacro Cuore" of Vomero (Naples), awarded with a scholarship by the Campania Region in the context of the competition that included the study of the theme: "Reduction, reuse, recycling and recovery. Ideas and projects to transform waste into resources for environmental protection”, announced by Palazzo Santa Lucia for the 2023-2024 school year.
The award ceremony took place in the spaces of the Mostra d'Oltremare in Naples, on the occasion of the “Green Med Symposium”. The idea of the “water bottle” was wanted by the entire class council, in what was immediately seen as a sort of “technical test” of the challenges, in a few years, the kids will be called to face in the world of finance and marketing, declined, however, according to an eco-sustainability perspective. A real business simulation, therefore, aimed at implementing the practical skills acquired during the school year, producing “goods and profits”, without however departing from the norms of the so-called “civil living”.
The students of the IV IT have in fact transformed themselves into many small entrepreneurs, but with an eye on those issues related to the protection and respect of the planet, the conscious use of drinking water and the consumption of plastic. In short: what is called an experience of civic education and active citizenship, which the Campania Region has shown to appreciate quite a bit.
