In a series of targeted searches, the Carabinieri of the Sant'Antonio Abate station carried out an important security operation that led to the arrest of Vincenzo Acampora, a 53-year-old already known to the police, for receiving stolen goods and illegal possession of explosive material.
During the search of Acampora's home, the military discovered a homemade explosive device weighing 180 grams. The search was then extended, revealing a hidden arsenal: a semi-automatic pistol with the serial number erased and eight bullets in the magazine, a gas pistol model 92 Fs and fifty 9×19 caliber bullets, in addition to 61 blank rounds.
The bomb disposal experts of the provincial command of Naples subsequently defused and secured the explosive device. Not only weapons and ammunition: during the operation a Fiat 500 was also found, which was found stolen last May in Salerno. This discovery has added a further element of gravity to the Acampora case.
Another man reported and marijuana greenhouse discovered
At the same time, the Carabinieri reported a 39-year-old local man, involved in the cultivation and possession of narcotics. In a place owned by him, the officers seized 45 grams of marijuana and discovered a homemade greenhouse. The greenhouse was equipped with lamps, power supplies, a ventilation system and various pots with soil, making it a real laboratory for the cultivation of drugs.
