Naples. A 76-year-old woman died last night at Cardarelli Hospital after being hit by a reversing car in Piazza Dante, in front of the subway station. The accident occurred around 18:30 PM.
According to initial reports, the woman was crossing the street when she was hit by a chauffeur-driven rental car that was making a U-turn.
The impact was violent and the woman suffered serious injuries and copious blood loss.
Immediately assisted by the driver of the car, the woman was transported in critical condition to Cardarelli Hospital, where she underwent lengthy surgery.
