Naples. A 76-year-old woman died last night at Cardarelli after being hit by a reversing car in Piazza Dante, in front of the subway stop. The accident occurred around 18:30 p.m.
According to initial reconstructions, the woman was crossing the road when she was hit by a rental car with driver that was making a U-turn.
The impact was violent and the woman suffered serious injuries and copious blood loss.
Immediately rescued by the driver of the car, the woman was transported in red code to Cardarelli, where she underwent a long surgical operation.
Unfortunately, despite the care provided by the doctors, the woman died during the night.
The Public Prosecutor on duty ordered the seizure of the vehicle and took the driver, a 54-year-old man, to the hospital for the usual toxicological tests.
Local Police officers intervened on site to carry out technical surveys and accurately reconstruct the dynamics of the accident.
Once again, a pedestrian tragedy invested from a car brings to the attention of the Naples news the need for greater caution and attention on the part of all motorists, given the dizzying increase in accidents and road victims in recent times.
