Evening openings at Ercolano Archaeological Park The “Fridays of Ercolano” are back
The cycle of evening openings of the Ercolano Archaeological Park returns on August 2nd with “The Fridays of Herculaneum”, now in its sixth edition. This year, the theme is dedicated to Hercules, the mythical founder of the city, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in ancient Herculaneum through guided tours, illuminated and animated by original theatrical performances created in collaboration with Teatri 35.
An Evocative Night Itinerary
The 2024 edition of “I Venerdì di Ercolano” offers an itinerary of about an hour and a half that guides visitors through a fascinating path in the Archaeological Park, illuminated for the occasion. The itinerary starts from the Ancient Beach, symbol of the city with its only fully preserved sea front, and passes through points of interest such as the Terrace of Nonio Balbo, the Gymnasium, the Swimming Pool, the Samnite House, the Tuscan Colonnade Shop and the Seat of the Augustales.
Total Visitor Engagement
The entire ancient city becomes a stage, with a script that transforms visitors into active participants. The scenarios are enriched by theatrical performances, creating a unique and engaging experience on the trail of the mythical Hercules.
General Event Information
Evening openings are scheduled every Friday evening in August (2, 9, 16, 23, 30) with admissions every 10 minutes from 20:00 pm to 22:30 pm. There are 16 visiting shifts, each with a maximum of 35 people, and one visit in English every evening at 21:00 pm. Visitors must arrive 20 minutes before their visit shift at the monumental entrance on Corso Resina.
Tickets and Prices
The cost of a full ticket is €9,00, while young people aged 18-30 can benefit from a reduced ticket price of €5,00. Admission is free for minors, disabled people and their companions. Tickets can be purchased at the Park ticket office, online at www.ercolano.coopculture.it, or through the call center at +39 081 0106490. Advance purchase is also mandatory for those who benefit from a free ticket.
Additional Services and Subscriptions
The Municipality of Ercolano, in collaboration with Pubbliservizi, provides a parking lot in Via dei Papiri Ercolanesi with a free shuttle service to the entrance of Corso Resina. In addition, season ticket holders will be entitled to free entry on one of the scheduled dates, upon online reservation.
Advice and Warnings
We recommend wearing low, comfortable shoes and protecting your skin with insect repellent. In case of adverse weather conditions, events may be cancelled and tickets will be automatically refunded.
