In such a delicate moment, after the pandemic and the seismic crisis, Pozzuoli cannot allow that in 7 months the employees of “METRO” end up on the streets.
We are talking about men and women, fathers and mothers of families who have built their lives on work with dignity and professionalism".
This is what Titti Zazzaro, councilor for productive activities of the municipality of Pozzuoli, says regarding the crisis that in seven months will lead to the closure of the METRO branch in via Campana and the consequent dismissal of 65 operators, sales staff and administrative staff.
“This scenario must absolutely be avoided,” adds Zazzaro. “Everyone must do their part, all the actors in this affair must sit around a table to find a solution that will safeguard these 65 workers well beyond the social safety nets.
I am thinking, for example, of a series of professional skills that could be absorbed by other entrepreneurial realities in the area, perhaps through incentives from the municipalities, where obviously there were the possibilities.
Or to a reconversion of the site, through new entrepreneurial skills, as happened with the former Whirlpool workers. We must be pragmatic, - concludes Zazzaro - look ahead and put the protection of these workers who still have so much to give and deserve to receive so much more before anything else".
