In Villaricca, the Carabinieri of the Qualiano station arrested Ciro Iorio, a 47-year-old Neapolitan already known to the police.
The operation took place in the parking lot of a shopping center in Giugliano, in via Santa Maria a Cubito, during a targeted operation against drug dealing.
Inside a stopped Fiat Panda, the soldiers noticed a man on the phone, visibly nervous. Suspicious, they decided to follow him.
The Panda then reached the municipality of Villaricca, traveling along Corso Europa. During the journey, a young man on a scooter approached the car followed by the carabinieri.
Without stopping, the two made a quick exchange: first the banknotes, then a small package. After a few seconds, the boy ran away, and the carabinieri stopped the Panda with Iorio on board.
The initial search turned up nothing, but what they observed suggested otherwise.

Determined to find evidence, the military dug deeper, eventually discovering seventeen doses of hidden cocaine in a chewing gum box.
The metal case, equipped with a magnet, was hidden in the air conditioning vent, in the center console above the stereo.
Iorio, who was also found in possession of 275 euros, a sum that was seized, was transferred to the Poggioreale prison. He will have to answer to the charge of possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing.
