The Carabinieri of Bari have arrested a person suspected of being involved in the murder of Antonia Lopez, the 19-year-old killed during the night between Saturday and Sunday at the Bahia Beach in Molfetta during an ambush.
According to the investigation, the main target of the hitmen was the victim's friend, Eugenio Palermiti, a twenty-year-old linked to a well-known clan from the Japigia district of Bari.
Palermiti was injured along with three other people. The investigation is coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Bari.
During the'ambush, the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and fired seven shots. One of these hit Antonia Lopez in the shoulder, severing her aorta and causing her death from hemorrhagic shock within minutes.
