Anti-drug operation: cultivation discovered with 600 plant of marijuana and laboratory in the heart of Sannio

In a joint operation, the Fiamme Gialle of the Frattamaggiore Group, supported by colleagues from the Provincial Command of Benevento, have dismantled a thriving drug cultivation and dealing business in the heart of Sannio.

The investigations, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Naples North, started from an intuition born during a normal territorial control service.

A suspicious package, destined for France and intercepted at a shipping centre in the Neapolitan hinterland, has shed light on the activities of a man residing in the Benevento.

Inside the package, carefully packaged to evade controls, approximately 7 kilograms of Indian hemp inflorescences were found, ready to be placed on the European black market.

Investigation launched after drugs were discovered in a package destined for France

Fortunately, the intuition of the financial police did not stop there. By deepening their investigations and following a precise lead, the military suddenly showed up at the suspect's home, thus starting a search that would reveal the details of a well-structured criminal organization.

The apparently quiet home hid a real drug laboratory. In several rooms, carefully hidden from view, the financial police found over 44 kilograms of marijuana already dried and ready for sale, divided into packages ready for sale.

But the most sensational discovery was that of a plantation di indica cannabis, composed of approximately 600 plants almost one metre high, carefully cultivated in a plot of land adjacent to the house.

The plants, lush and well-kept, testified to the experience and dedication of the grower, who had set up a real open-air greenhouse, equipped with an irrigation system and fertilizers, to guarantee the maximum yield of his illegal production.

The street value of the seized drugs exceeds 550.000 euros, a loot that would have enriched the coffers of a criminal organization dedicated to drug dealing.

With this operation, the Guardia di Finanza dealt a heavy blow to the drug market in the Benevento area, demonstrating once again their determination in the fight against drug trafficking.
