Like Arrowhead ends with the concert “Solo in due” by Giovanna Baviera
The IX edition of the Sicut Sagittae festival is coming to an end with a highly stylish event: the concert “Solo in due” by Giovanna Baviera, which will take place on Wednesday 23 October at 20.00 pm in the suggestive location of Domus Ars. The initiative, organized by Il Canto di Virgilio in partnership with the Cappella Neapolitana– Antonio Florio Association, concludes a series of important musical events.
Giovanna Baviera's musical exploration
Giovanna Baviera will enchant the audience of the final evening with a unique repertoire that mixes her voice with the refined sounds of the viola da gamba. The performance will offer a musical journey through the French chansons of the XVI century and the Italian monodies of the early Baroque, embellished with scores created especially for the artist. Baviera will demonstrate her vocal flexibility, highlighting the wide expressive range of the viola da gamba, one of the most fascinating instruments of the Renaissance.
A tribute to “singing to the viola”
The evening will pay homage to the art of “cantar alla viola”, a refined musical practice that involves the accompaniment of singing with the viola da gamba. The program includes tablatures for viola and voice, with pieces by illustrious composers such as Jacques Arcadelt and Giulio Caccini, as well as contemporary works by Eva Reiter, an Austrian composer. These pieces will offer a new interpretation of the genre, ensuring the continuity of this ancient musical tradition. Enthusiasts of baroque music will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the elegance of ancient sounds, relived with mastery and originality by Giovanna Baviera.
