Frank Zambo Anguissa, Napoli midfielder, spoke to the microphones of Radio CRC, official partner of SSC Napoli, to share his feelings about the team's current situation and his personal ambitions. After scoring against Udinese, the player explained the importance of teamwork and his approach to the season.
“I am happy to have scored and, above all, to have done so in a victory. But my main objective is not to score, but to contribute to the success of the team,” Anguissa said. “The coach asks me to score more, maybe getting to eight goals this season, but for me the important thing is to win as a group.”
With an eye on the next league match against Genoa, Anguissa underlined the importance of preparation. “I can’t predict how the game will go, but I know we have to focus on our play and the tactical set-up we prepared with Conte. This can make the difference. Napoli must be a team that wins against anyone, and on Saturday we will take to the field to get the three points.”
Anguissa expressed great respect for Genoa coach Patrick Vieira: “He is a person I admire a lot, both for the ideas he brings as a coach and for the human side. It will be a pleasure to see him again, but obviously I hope we win.” Speaking about other teams in Serie A, Anguissa explained that he is not interested in following their results: “I don’t watch football, I live it. I only focus on our games and the videos prepared by the coach. In the end we’ll do the math, but I think Napoli today is a team that counts and can win.”
The relationship with Conte and the secret of the best defense
Working with Antonio Tale It's an intense experience, Anguissa revealed: “Conte demands 200% from each of us. He pushes us to always give our best, both tactically and mentally. He insists a lot on defense, but not only as a department: the whole team defends and attacks together. This is the philosophy that allows us to be solid.”
The midfielder then praised some of his teammates, especially Lobotka: “As a person I love him, he is calm and on the pitch he shows great personality. Playing with him is easy, we understand each other with our eyes closed.” Finally, Anguissa spoke about two young talents who could do well for Napoli: “Gilmour and McTominay are strong and have great qualities. Even from a human point of view they are great people, and for me this is fundamental. In our dressing room there is a climate of collaboration, we all help each other, even those who play less.”
