A magnitude 2.3 earthquake was recorded at 7:35 a.m. this morning, two kilometers north of Polla, a small town in the Vallo di Diano region in the province of Salerno. The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) detected the seismic movement at a depth of 9 kilometers.
The shock was felt by the population but fortunately no damage was reported. The civil protection, on the orders of the municipal administration, has started checks throughout the territory.
