Foodyear 2025, known as the Year of Flavors, is about to begin its second edition. The event will be officially launched on January 4, 2025 at 9:45 am at the Yacht Club Marina di Stabia, located in Castellammare di Stabia, Naples.
Kilometer zero as a common thread
The central theme of this edition, which focuses on promoting the culinary excellence of Campania, is “zero kilometer”. This approach encourages the use of local products, thus reducing the environmental impact. This philosophy aims to reduce environmental pollution, an aspect supported by many supporters.
The idea behind the project
The Foodyear project was conceived by Gianni Cesariello, Ilaria Cotarella and Marco Pirollo. This team launched the project to tell the stories of chefs, pizza chefs, pastry chefs and restaurateurs who foster a positive impact on the environment through daily practices.
Promoting sustainable habits
The 2025 edition will explore sustainable culinary practices in cities like Castellammare di Stabia and Gragnano, highlighting traditions like panuozzo. Each month, it will focus on techniques to reduce food waste in Campania restaurants and the use of low-impact ingredients, thus promoting environmentally friendly cuisine. The initiative is supported by partner companies such as Pastificio Gentile, Pastificio Di Martino and Antiche Radici, all committed to spreading a sustainable culinary culture.

The Foodyear 2025 event seems like it will be interesting, but I don't know if the zero kilometer is actually a solution to reduce pollution. Maybe other methods could be used. I'm waiting to see how it will develop.
