Fisciano. The investigation into the collapse of the tree inside the university campus of Fisciano, which injured three students, including Carmine Fiorillo, the most seriously, continues. The student has regained consciousness, but his hospital stay is expected to be long and complex.
At the centre of the investigation are the two companies responsible for maintaining the greenery on the campus. The legal representatives and managers of the two companies have been entered in the register of suspects, together with three administrative officials of the University of Salerno.
The Prosecutor's Office has appointed an expert to ascertain the phytosanitary conditions of the tree, verify the presence of any pathologies and evaluate the adequacy of the maintenance interventions carried out. The expert will also have to analyze the impact of the weather conditions at the time of the collapse.
The University of Salerno filed a complaint, asking to reconstruct the chain of events and to verify the possible presence of omissions or irregularities. The Unisa Foundation, which manages the university assets, declared that it had carried out constant checks and had contested any contractual breaches to the contractors.
Meanwhile, the health conditions of the other two injured students are improving, while the academic community awaits with apprehension the developments of the investigations and the conclusions of the expert.
