Caserta. A medical director of the ASL of Caserta has come under the scrutiny of the Guardia di Finanza and the Court of Auditors for having carried out, from 2006 to 2020, private professional activities in conflict with his obligations of exclusivity.
The Yellow Flames of the Economic and Financial Police Unit of Caserta, coordinated by the Regional Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Auditors of Naples, have carried out a seizure conservative of assets with a value of over 2 million euros, corresponding to the alleged damage caused to the treasury.
According to the investigations, the doctor allegedly pocketed unjustifiably compensation from external assignments, including through a medical diagnostics company owned by his wife. The illicit activities were allegedly carried out at the same time as his service at the Marcianise hospital, in violation of the rules governing the activity of public employees.
The precautionary measure was issued following a report from the ASL of Caserta and in-depth investigations that allowed us to reconstruct a solid evidentiary framework.
With this operation, the Caserta Guardia di Finanza confirms its commitment to combating economic crime and protecting the interests of the State.
