Il Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, has issued in recent days six anti-mafia bans towards an equal number of companies operating in the sectors of catering, bars and cafes, construction, fruit and vegetable trade, gaming rooms and food and drink distribution.
The companies, all based in Giugliano in Campania, were considered at risk of criminal infiltration. According to an official note, the action of the Prefecture of Naples aims to strengthen the protection of economic public order, preventing the penetration of organised crime into the market.
The goal is counteract the contamination of the legal economy by criminal organizations rooted in the territory, to guarantee the free competition between companies and ensure the good performance of public administration. The intervention of the Prefecture confirms the maximum commitment in fight against mafia infiltration in the local economic fabric, a phenomenon that represents a threat to the healthy economy and to the safety of the territory.
