A goal that was supposed to close the match has instead reopened the debate, sparking a real storm on social media: Marcus Thuram, Inter striker, ended up at the centre of controversy for his goal that temporarily made it 0-2 in the match against Parma, valid for the 31st matchday of the Serie A.
An episode that, between slow motion, slow frames and suspicions, inflamed the post-match and raised yet another storm over the regularity of the championship. The case began at the Tardini, where Inter seemed to be heading for a comfortable victory. At the end of a confused action, Thuram deflected a cross from the left into the net.
The technical gesture, far from clean, immediately attracted attention for the anomalous trajectory of the ball, so much so that it was suspected of being touched by the arm. The television images did not provide a definitive answer, leaving the discussion open. Former referee Luca Marelli, now a video reviewer for DAZN, acknowledged the possibility of a very light touch with the upper limb, recalling that the rule expressly prohibits scoring after contact, even involuntary, with the arm.
However, the lack of unequivocal video evidence led the VAR not to intervene, leaving the on-field decision valid. At that point, the world of social media took over to inflame the spirits. In particular, Napoli fans denounced an alleged wrong, speaking openly of a "rigged championship" and posting frames and zooms in which the hand touch seems evident, at least according to their reconstruction.
To further fuel the climate of suspicion, an amateur video also emerged in which Thuram can be seen addressing a teammate with a phrase that sounds like a half-admission: “Handball?”, he says, before making an unconvincing grimace. Despite the chaos, the goal was confirmed and Inter continued the match, which ended 2-2. But the episode left a long trail of controversy in its wake.

I think the situation was a bit exaggerated, I don't think it was so clearly a handball. The replay showed different things, but the VAR couldn't intervene. All this makes you think of a strange championship.
