Tommaso Ariemma will be a guest at Salerno Letteratura's new #fuorifestival, on April 6th at 18 pm at the Spazio Matteotti. The author will present his book "The Feet of the World: How Nike Shoes Revolutionized the Global Imagination," published by Luiss University Press. During the event, Ariemma will be in conversation with Alfonso Amendola.
### The book
The volume explores how the pursuit of happiness has accompanied human beings since ancient times, often following paths suggested by artists and philosophers. However, Ariemma highlights how Nike shoes, since their commercialization in 1964, have triggered a cultural transformation in addition to representing a story of entrepreneurial success. The book is enriched by little-known stories and unpublished analyses of global phenomena, showing how a simple object can take on a symbolic meaning at a social level.

The book topic seems interesting, but there are many things I don't quite understand. Have Nike shoes really changed the culture that much? I don't know if that's true. I'd like to know more.
