On Sunday 8 June at 20:00 pm, the medieval village of Casertavecchia will host a one-of-a-kind artistic event: “Death to the Witches” by Patrizio Ranieri Ciu, a performance conceived and created by ALI della Mente as part of the Comunalia 2025 program. The initiative is part of the promotion of the Rosso Vanvitelliano cultural brand, aimed at promoting culture as a tool for identity and collective reflection.

A work between theatre, music and social denunciation
The show is presented as a traveling performance that combines street theater and auteur theater, music, dance and conceptual installations. On stage, five very different women - the mute, the blind, the deaf, the demented and the liar - are tried with a single charge: being women. A symbolic and powerful act that recalls the historical persecutions of witches, interpreting them as a metaphor for disabilities and social exclusion.
The medieval village as a living part of the narrative
The evocative setting of Casertavecchia is not only the background, but an integral part of the work. The ancient stones, the shadows and the silences of the village become active elements of a narration that moves between past and present, involving the public in an immersive and participatory experience. The spectators are not simple observers, but called to take a position, in a real "emotional tribunal".
A strong message: value differences, don't judge them
“Death to Witches” speaks out for an uncomfortable truth, using the language of art to denounce injustices that are still current. The goal is not only to tell, but to educate and excite, stimulating a sense of inclusion and respect. A powerful reflection that aims to leave a mark especially on the new generations, so that rights, dignity and diversity become founding values of society.
