Florence. On-site inspections, searches and testimonies to identify the hidden instigators of the mafia massacre of May 27, 1993 in Via dei Georgofili in Florence.
PDia search in Piedmont on Lake Orta at the home of a mayor (not under investigation) of a small town and on April 1st the magistrates interrogated the Graviano brothers in Terni.
The Florence prosecutor's office is speeding up its investigation into the hidden instigators of the massacre Via dei Georgofili in which 5 people died, 48 were injured. The inspections in Sicily were carried out personally by the head of the Florentine public prosecutors.
Furthermore, there would have been a search of the home and office of the mayor of a very small town near Lake Orta and the interrogation of the Graviano brothers. The inspections and interrogations were conducted by the deputy prosecutors Luca Tescaroli and Luca Turco, who were also joined by the anti-mafia district prosecutor Giuseppe Creazzo, who personally coordinates the investigation.
We start from the four interrogations given to the public prosecutors by Salvatore Baiardo, a character that the investigators take with a pinch of salt. Baiardo knows a lot of things, however: he was present alongside the Gravianos in crucial moments and above all he took care of the fugitive status of the two bosses of Brancaccio in Tuscany, in Forte dei Marmi, and in Omegna, his hometown; a place, Lake Orta, where in the early 90s high-caliber mafiosi such as, precisely, the Gravianos and Balduccio Di Maggio, men of the State and of the secret services such as General Francesco Delfino, crossed paths.

A quiet place, too quiet, where the Gravianos move without the slightest worry and protection. And it was precisely in the area of Lake Orta that the investigators of the DIA of Florence went at the end of March: in their pockets they had a search warrant for the mayor of a very small municipality.
According to Baiardo's story, the Gravianos would have given the man, who is not under investigation, a billion lire to be reinvested. A statement that however I had no confirmation of in the search, on April 1st.
The top officials of the Florence prosecutor's office set off again, this time to the Terni prison, to hear the Graviano brothers: Giuseppe, who had already been heard on November 20, answered questions and said among other things that his maternal grandfather, Filippo Quartararo, had given large sums of money to Silvio Berlusconi in the early 90s. A statement that had already emerged in recent months, but Graviano did not outline any role for the Cavaliere in the season of mafia massacres in 1992-93.
