Oedipus Rex, Sophocles' tragedy travelling within the walls of the Diocesan
An intensive theater course on Greek tragedy will start on September 1st, in the rooms of the Diocesan Museum of San Matteo in Salerno. The course will be led by director Antonello De Rosa together with the actress from Salerno Margherita Rago.
The theme is Greek tragedy, the reference for the work period will be Sophocles' text, Oedipus Rex.
The internship will be open to actors, student actors and all those who have the desire to delve deeper into Greek tragedy through theatre – a true “full immersion” in Sophocles’ text that will engage participants in 40 hours of activity for a total of 12 working days. The staging, which will take place in the rooms of the museum, will be on October 2.
“Returning after almost three years of restrictions to work with intensive internships for actors and aspiring actors motivates my work. They will be intense days of work that, – reveals the director- will be collected by the writer Paola La Valle, in the edition produced by Scena Teatro of a theatrical text.” The second version of the stage on Oedipus will be transcribed into a book, after the success of the first one in 2015, also produced by Scena Teatro.
The actress Margherita Rago will support the director in this intense work – "I am happy to be able to lead, together with a great friend and colleague of mine, a theatrical training course. I am a woman in constant search of professional stimuli and Antonello De Rosa always offers me these stimuli".
The internship is open to a maximum of 30 participants and it is possible to send your application by writing an e-mail to scenateatrosalerno@gmail.com
