Vacuum cleaners sold online, but it was a scam: 4 reported thanks to checks carried out by the military.
Four people have been reported following a series of investigations conducted in the Cremona area that began after several reports of scams online. They are three Italian citizens, a 66-year-old and a 45-year-old resident in the province of Caserta, a 53-year-old resident in the province of Bari and a 43-year-old foreign citizen resident in the province of Naples.
Three, in particular, were the investigation activities conducted by the Carabinieri of the Casalmaggiore, Gussola and Sospiro barracks. In the first case, which occurred at the beginning of last May, the victim had decided to buy a vacuum cleaner for 200 euros seen on the marketplace of a social network.
After contacting the seller, she defined the payment and delivery methods for the item. She was then asked to immediately pay half of the amount via bank transfer, but after having paid 100 euros in advance, the seller became untraceable. The victim then filed a complaint with the Carabinieri of Casalmaggiore who identified and reported a 66-year-old Italian citizen, resident in the province of Caserta.
In the second case, the military of the Gussola station received a complaint from a man who in mid-July, through a social network, had bought some clothes paying 180 euros with a bank transfer. Not receiving any delivery, he tried in vain to contact the seller.
For this fact, a 53-year-old Italian citizen, resident in the province of Bari, with a police record, was identified and reported. The third complaint, finally, was filed by a woman who, at the beginning of last July, reported to the Carabinieri of Sospiro that she had purchased pellets on an internet site for a sum of 215 euros.
Here too, after having agreed with the seller on the payment and delivery of the product, the woman made a bank transfer and, not seeing the pellets arrive, tried to contact the advertiser who no longer answered the phone.
The checks carried out by the military on the telephone number published in the advert and on the IBAN provided by the seller to make the payment allowed them to identify a 45-year-old Italian citizen, resident in the province of Caserta with a police record and a 43-year-old foreign citizen resident in the province of Naples, who were reported.
