The hearing to validate the arrest notified yesterday by the Gico of the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples to MEP Andrea Cozzolino will be held today.
The financiers handed over to Cozzolino and his lawyer Vincenzo Domenico Ferarro a European arrest warrant issued by the Belgian federal prosecutor's office as part of the so-called investigation "Qatargate“. Cozzolino was taken to the Neapolitan prison of Poggioreale twenty minutes after midnight.
In the next few hours, the judge of the Court of Appeal of Naples is called to evaluate whether or not to mitigate the precautionary measure that the financial police gave to Cozzolino after his discharge from a Neapolitan clinic where he had gone, according to what has been learned, for health problems.
