The Anti-Counterfeiting Group of the Local Police, within the scope of the checks in Duchess area, a crucial area of the counterfeit market due to the presence of numerous street vendors, warehouses and small factories dedicated to the application of counterfeit brands on clothing and footwear, intervened in a building in via San Giuseppe Calasanzio having observed suspicious movements of people and loads.
Some individuals, who were busy carrying large plastic bags, as soon as they noticed the presence of the agents, tried to free themselves of the load. The subsequent checks, although not allowing to stop and identify the responsible parties, led to the recovery and criminal seizure of the packages that contained 38 sweatshirts and sweaters and 49 pairs of trousers, all items of clothing accompanied by brands of well-known brands probably counterfeit.
In the Quartieri Spagnoli area, the Municipal Police, in joint activity with other Law Enforcement Forces and with personnel from Asia Napoli, was engaged in 'High Impact' operations. The objective of the checks - in addition to road checks, which resulted in 19 reports for various violations, the administrative seizure of 2 vehicles without insurance and the removal of 8 vehicles parked illegally - were land occupations.
The investigations led to the fines of 3 public establishments that had placed awnings outside their premises without the necessary authorizations. 230 illegal poles were also removed. Finally, the presence was ensured until midnight, with 24 self-assembled patrols for the constant patrolling of Piazza Garibaldi and the surrounding streets.
