Tragedy of loneliness on the outskirts of Scafati.
A man of about 70 years old was found dead at home after about 40 days. It happened in via Mortellari. It was the neighbors who called for help. The firefighters and the 118 crew arrived on the scene.
After having forced the entrance gate and the door of a rustic house inside a semi-uncultivated garden they could do nothing but confirm his death. The man, who lived alone, his wife had died a few years ago, was very well known because he worked as a parking attendant in the area of the Circumvesuviana station of Scafati. In the past he had had serious legal problems for sexual crimes.
He left early in the morning to return in the afternoon. But since Christmas the neighbors had not seen him around. Someone had even tried to call him on the phone but there had been no answer. This morning the decision to alert the emergency services. And hence the macabre discovery.
After the arrival of the Carabinieri and the magistrate on duty of the Nocera Inferiore Public Prosecutor's Office, the body was taken to the morgue for an autopsy to ascertain the causes of death.
