His staff says he is in good condition and will be discharged in the next few days, maybe tomorrow, to go home and rest. Calà is not in intensive care, he is calm and this morning he has already talked about work, explaining that he wants to return soon to the set of his film.

The comedian and showman had just arrived in Campania from Molise, where the filming of the feature film concluded yesterday afternoon. The other scenes were shot in Ischia, Monte di Procida and to the former cinema Sophia of Pozzuoli; the last take was scheduled for Monday right here.

These have been hours of apprehension for Jerry Calà, 71, who suffered a heart attack during the night while he was in a hotel in Naples. Calà is in Napoli for the filming of his latest movie, “They kidnapped Jerry Calà: the ransom is a problem”. While he was in theSanta Lucia hotel, on the seafront of the Campania capital, was struck by an illness.

He was rushed to the hospital Mediterranean Clinic from Naples: the actor and comedian arrived in red code and was immediately taken to the operating room. Here he underwent an angioplasty.

Mara Venier: “My love, what a scare you gave me”

“Is he well and is he recovering while remaining in intensive care? But he is well” writes Mara Venier to reassure those who read her post and those who wanted to know more information about the actor's health conditions. The presenter also thanks the Neapolitan clinic where the surgery was performed and at the end of the post she added: "My love, how scared you gave me".

The two are linked by a deep friendship, after being married for just over three years. Their wedding was celebrated in Las Vegas in 1984, only to conclude some time later.

Jerry Calà and the crew had been in Naples for a week and, after a few days of filming in San Giuliano del Sannio, the last 'Molisan' scenes of the film were shot in Campobasso, inside the television studios of Telemolise.

Several actors and journalists from Molise also participated in the filming. The other scenes of the feature film were shot in Ischia, Monte di Procida and at the former Sofia cinema in Pozzuoli. “Chi ha kidnapped Jerry Calà”, which sees the comedian engaged in the dual role of actor and director, is produced by Vargo Film and will be released at Christmas.

In addition to Calà, the cast also includes Sergio Assisi, Barbara Foria, Antonio Fiorillo, Shi Yang Shi, Massimo Boldi, Maurizio Casagrande, Nado Paone, Gianfranco Gallo and Francesca Tizzano. There are also several special participations of Calà's historical friends and colleagues such as Mara Venier and Umberto Smaila. The producers of the film are Alessandro Ricciardi and Gianluca Varriale. The executive producer is Diego D'Ambrosio.
