The city councilor of Naples, Nino Simeone leaves the “Napoli libera” council group, an expression of the “Campania Libera” movement founded by the president of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca.
Simeone, who was also the group leader of “Napoli Libera”, announced during today’s session of the City Council his membership in the mixed group, confirming his desire to remain in the majority.
“Now I am free to carry out my political action without misunderstandings – Simeone explained in his speech – I put the city before everything else and the latest political events have forced me to take a clear position”.
Simeone holds the position of president of the Infrastructure, Mobility and Civil Protection Commission of the City Council. In the 2020 regional elections he was a candidate on the “De Luca Presidente” list, without being elected to the Regional Council, and in May 2021 he was appointed by De Luca as councilor “in matters relating to scheduled and non-scheduled local public transport”, a position he renounced about 6 months ago due to “differences of opinion”.
