Between 6:10 and 6:22 the operations room of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology OV (Naples) recorded seismic movements of magnitude 2.5 (depth of one kilometer), magnitude 2.8 (depth of two kilometers) and magnitude 3.3 (depth of two kilometers) felt by residents in the area.
The earthquake did not cause any damage, the Civil Protection Department reported. “The shock was felt by the population but no damage was reported”, reads a note.
Many citizens shortly after dawn especially in Pozzuoli, Bacoli and Monte di Procida rushed to the streets and preferred to stop for a few hours waiting for official communications and for the seismic swarm to end. The tremors were also felt in much of the city of Napoli.
