“We have detected serious critical issues in the TOLC-MED selection system and we are asking for urgent interventions to repair the damage. For this reason we have filed a question to the Ministry of University and Research, highlighting the problems that emerged after the ruling of the TAR Lazio and the requests of the students.
The new model of test, introduced by the Ministry of University and Research to make the admission process to the degree course in medicine and surgery more equitable, has been the subject of controversy due to questions leaked before the testing sessions.
The TAR Lazio has annulled the ministerial decree and the competition announcements, raising concerns about the possibility of new entries for the current academic year. We have therefore asked the Minister to adopt timely measures to ensure fairness and transparency in the admission tests and preserve the general interest in the training of medical personnel.
The excluded students are demanding justice and a review of the system, while those admitted are waiting to continue their academic path. The TAR's conclusions raise doubts about the possibility of new admissions for the current academic year, generating concerns about disparities and injustices.
The Ministry is called to a timely response to preserve the general interest in medical education, avoid waste of resources and guarantee the quality of the training offer. The revision of the TOLC-MED system is considered a priority to ensure equal access to medical and surgical faculties”.
