Yesterday afternoon, the agents of the General Prevention Office, during the territorial control service, on the orders of the Operations Room, intervened in via Amerigo Vespucci to report a harassing person.
The operators, who arrived immediately on the scene, noticed a man who was threatening those present with a box cutter and, at the same time, attempting acts of self-harm before being reached and disarmed.
The officers found that the man, shortly before, in via Diomede Marvasi, had resisted the control of the Local Police officers, insulting and threatening them and then fleeing brandishing the cutter at them. Subsequently, he had gone to via Vespucci where, after having broken down the entrance door of the Consulate of Morocco and physically assaulted the Local Police officers, he continued his threatening behavior until he was secured by the patrol officers.
A 29-year-old Moroccan with a criminal record, including specific ones, was taken into custody arrest for damage, injury and resistance to a public official and also reported for carrying objects capable of causing offence.
