POMPEII – The crackdown on drug trafficking in the province of Naples continues: yesterday afternoon, the State Police arrested a 23-year-old from Castellammare di Stabia, already under house arrest for drug-related crimes, on charges of illicit possession of narcotics.
The operation was conducted by the agents of the Police Station of Pompei, engaged in an extraordinary service of territorial control ordered by the Naples Police Headquarters. During the search of the young man's home, the police discovered a package containing 61 grams of marijuana hidden in the bedroom.
Another 31 doses of the same substance, for a total of approximately 43 grams, were found inside a cabinet near the entrance, along with 65 euros in cash, divided into banknotes of various denominations, probable proceeds of the illegal activity. The young man was arrested and will have to answer again for possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing. Investigations are continuing to trace the network of supply and distribution of the narcotic substance.

It is a sad fact that these young people are involved in drug trafficking, especially in a beautiful city like Pompeii. We hope that the police will continue to do their job to protect the community from these problems.
